Configuring Interviewer Settings

After creating an Interviewer instance, you might need to configure settings specific to that instance. These settings often relate to its identity or basic operational parameters, separate from the core AI behavior defined in the Template.

Accessing Interviewer Settings

  1. Navigate to Interviewers: Go to the Project containing the Interviewer you want to configure, and open the "Interviewers" section.
  2. Select the Interviewer: Find the specific Interviewer in the list and click on its name or an associated "Edit" or "Settings" button/icon.

Common Interviewer Settings

While the exact options depend on the platform, you might find settings like:

  • Interviewer Name: You can usually change the name you initially gave the Interviewer instance. This is often the name displayed to interviewees.
  • Description: Update the internal description or notes for this instance.
  • Active/Inactive Status: A toggle or switch to enable or disable the Interviewer. An inactive interviewer might still exist but its shareable link (if generated) might not work.
  • (Link-Related Settings): Settings for the shareable link (like expiration, max uses) are often configured in a separate Shareable Links section but could sometimes be found here.

Reference Documents for Stages

Each interview stage can have a reference document attached to it, which provides the interviewer with contextual information to use during that stage of the interview.

Key points about reference documents:

  • Only the first 3 pages of a document are used during an interview
  • If you need more content, consider splitting into multiple documents across different stages
  • Documents can be selected from your knowledge repository
  • You can view, change, or remove documents from interview stages

To learn more about adding different types of knowledge documents to your projects, see the Adding Knowledge guide.

For detailed information on using reference documents effectively in interviews, see the Reference Documents in Interviews guide.

Relationship to Templates

  • Template Settings: Define the core AI behavior, focus, and instructions.
  • Interviewer Settings: Define the specific instance's identity (Name) and operational status (Active/Inactive).

Changes made in the Interviewer settings do not affect the underlying Template. Changes to the Template may or may not affect existing Interviewer instances, depending on the system design and whether versioning is used.

Saving Changes

Remember to click "Save" or "Update" after making any changes to the Interviewer settings.
