Managing Your Interviewer Templates

Once you have created templates (or if you want to modify library templates), you'll need to manage them. This typically involves editing, versioning, and organizing.

Finding Your Templates

  • Navigate to the Interviewer Templates section (often accessible from main navigation, within a Project, or organization settings).
  • You should see a list of available templates, likely filterable by scope (Global, Project, My Templates) or searchable by name.

Editing a Template

  1. Select the Template: Find the template you want to modify in the list and click on it or an associated "Edit" button/icon.
  2. Make Changes: You'll be taken to the template configuration screen (similar to the creation screen). Modify the Name, Description, Focus, Core Instructions, or any other settings as needed.
  3. Save Changes: Click "Save" or "Update Template".

Important Note on Editing: Editing a template might affect future interviewers created from it. Depending on the system's design, it may or may not update existing interviewers already based on that template. Consider using versioning for significant changes.

Versioning Templates (If Available)

Some systems support template versioning, which is highly recommended for managing changes without breaking existing interviewers.

  • Creating a New Version: Instead of directly editing, look for an option like "Create New Version", "Version History", or "Save as New Version".
  • How it Works: This usually duplicates the current template, allowing you to make changes to the new version while the old version remains untouched. Existing interviewers continue to use the version they were originally created with.
  • Benefits: Maintains stability for active interviewers while allowing you to iterate and improve your templates.
  • Managing Versions: You might be able to view the version history, compare versions, and set a specific version as the "current" or "default" one for new interviewers.

Deleting Templates

  1. Select Template(s): In the template list, select the template(s) you wish to delete (there might be checkboxes or individual delete options).
  2. Confirm Deletion: Click the "Delete" button. You will likely be asked to confirm, as this action is usually permanent.

Caution: Deleting a template might prevent you from creating new interviewers based on it. It might also impact analytics or reporting related to that template. Check if there are any active interviewers using the template before deleting.

Organizing Templates

  • Naming Conventions: Use clear and consistent names.
  • Descriptions: Write helpful descriptions.
  • Scope: Use Project-specific templates where appropriate to avoid cluttering the global list.

Now that you know how to manage templates, let's move on to Creating and Sharing Interviewers.
