Set Up Your First AI Research Agent in 3 Steps

· 2 min read

Ready to harness the power of AI for conducting qualitative research or gathering feedback? Agent Interviews makes it easy to create and deploy AI research agents that conduct research interviews and generate insights in real time. This guide walks you through the essential steps to get your first research agent up and running quickly.

Goal: Launch a basic AI research agent focused on your research topics and insights, and start collecting qualitative research data instantly.

Step 1: Create a Research Project

Everything in Agent Interviews is organized within Research Projects. Think of a research project as a workspace for a specific research initiative.

  • Go to the Projects section.
  • Select an existing Research Project or click "Create Project" to make a new one. Give it a clear name (e.g., "Website User Experience Research Study").

Step 2: Create a Research Agent (Focus, Topics, Insights)

Within your chosen Research Project:

  • Navigate to the Research Agents tab or section.
  • Click the "Create Research Agent" or "New Research Agent" button.
  • In the configuration form, set your Research Agent's Focus (the main research goal or area of inquiry).
  • Add Topics (what the research agent will ask about—e.g., product feedback, user experience, market research).
  • Define Insights (what the research agent should make notes on—e.g., pain points, feature requests, sentiment, qualitative themes).
  • Give your Research Agent a clear Name and fill in any other required fields.
  • Click "Save" or "Create".

Step 3: Build & Publish to Your Research Participants

  • Use the audience builder in the app to select the demographics or groups you want to target for your qualitative research studies.
  • Once your research audience is defined, publish your Research Agent directly to them.
  • Alternatively, you can simply use the shareable link to distribute the Research Agent to anyone you choose for your research study.
